As you can imagine, I browsed through a lot of wolf photos for the cover of Danger at Wolf Rock. Since the book specified a large gray wolf, I had to be sensitive to color, and I wanted a pose that implied menace without being too scary (due to the target age of the book). The wolf in this photo, unfortunately, was not gray, but you just gotta love Photoshop! I was just happy I didn’t have to put the wolf into a different background. This photo was perfect because the log cabin and tree branches were a perfect match to the story.
